Ayame Kai Guild

Fundraising

Currently, Ayame Kai hosts two major community events, the Ayame Kai Steak Dinner, held in early June, and the Ayame Kai Holiday Craft Fair, a popular and enduring event in mid-November.

Ayame Kai stands solidly behind Keiro Northwest’s fundraising campaigns. They stepped up for our major capital campaigns for Seattle Keiro Rehabilitation and Care Center and Nikkei Manor, established a $100,000 fund for our endowment campaign, sponsored events, and supported major projects like the Seattle Keiro Garden.

Talented crafters raise additional funds with unique and clever items for sale at Seattle Keiro Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Ayame Kai Wish List

Each year, Ayame Kai grants wishes for Keiro Northwest programs. The items can range from special cookware that helps students learn in Nikkei Horizons to minor equipment that enhances the quality of life for residents. The items must directly benefit the residents and participants, staying true to Ayame Kai’s original mission. Their gifts total around $60,000 each year!

Activities

Ayame Kai members give their time to Keiro Northwest in many ways. In addition to volunteering at Ayame Kai and Keiro events, the members play bingo with the residents once a month. Many other members are individual volunteers who serve in one or more of the programs.

Membership

Ayame Kai seeks new members of all ages and abilities. Both men and women are welcome. Please contact Julie Ann Oiye at jayoiye@gmail.com regarding membership.
